Biog:

Universal Solution is me...Gavin Holland based out of Manchester. I've been producing melodic and atmospheric electronica on and off for 20 years. Early influences from way back in the day include N-joi, Happy Mondays, Shades of Rhythm and 808 State during the Madchester years. I also had the pleasure of attending countless Megadog events and the legendary Oscillate nights in Birmingham during the mid nineties seeing the likes of Autechre, The Higher Intelligence Agency, Luke Slater, Underworld, Biosphere, Orbital, Locust, The Orb, System 7,Aphex Twin, B12 and Spooky. Atmospheric, colourful and melodic electronic music.

Later influences include Shur-i-kan, DJ Meri (ROTD), Funk D'Void, Office Gossip, Schmoov!, Deetron, nutone, Blu Mar Ten and most significantly everything and anything involving Tom Middleton. The album 76:14 by Global Communication (with Mark Pritchard of course) changed it all! A piece of music that is close to perfection in my humble opinion.

I released my debut album last year (Nurture) followed by further EPs on MUM and Kindred. Much more to follow in 2012 with EPs in the schedule for Soundfate, Breeze and Quadrat, DCSTrax and Springtube.
