After many years of recording and performing with an endless string of immense musical talents, London-based composer and producer Sam Beste embarked on his debut solo adventures as The Vernon Spring in 2019 with the release of his debut album ‘A Plane Over Woods’. The ambitious ‘What’s Going On’ followed in 2021 - a reimagining of Marvin Gaye’s seminal record which is only available on vinyl. Along with performing as part of alt-soul trio Hejira, Sam’s work as a producer, performer and composer covers a multitude of styles and roles. He has performed as part of Kano’s live band and co-produced two tracks on Joy Crookes’ UK Top 5 debut album ‘Skin’. A consistent collaborator with Gabriels, Sam co-wrote and contributed production on four tracks on the band’s debut album ‘Angels & Queens’ alongside performing in the band. Sam has recently been working with Beth Orton, MERCY, Anna B Savage, Fran Lobo, Loa and Dot Never.
