The Pocket Symphony Orchestra began life in 2012 as a solo-project of its frontman, Barry Blitz. After asking Darren to join him for some writing sessions, these sessions reignited a musical partnership which dates back to the summer of 1999, when the two formed their first band together (Absent). At that point it had been a few years since they’d played together, but they knew this was the time to start a new band.

The music the band plays is a incorporates the influences and experiences of all its members, but through the lens of the music which formed the foundation of Barry and Darren’s friendship – intelligent, meaningful, emotional, energetic, danceable rock music.
