The Frowns are an unsigned indie-rock band based in Glasgow. Bursting onto the scene with their King Tuts headline last year, The Frowns have since made a name for themselves performing in many of Glasgow’s most famous venues.
The Frowns are formed of Vocalist and Guitarist, Lloyd Jackson, Guitarist, Mattie Mackinnon, Bassist Louis French, and Drummer Ronan Walker. The groups early releases represent an effort to translate the bands live sound into a studio setting, however, the band have took things up a notch, having recently paired with acclaimed producers Chris Marshall and Johnny Madden to create their newest offering.
The Frowns attempt to pair music influenced by the early 2000s New York City Alt music scene with lyrics influenced by the writer Lloyds own Glasgow upbringing, and his love hate relationship with the city.
Ultimately the band have something to say and aim to make good music for good people in the process.
