Biography

The Deadly Winters released their debut album in 2011 and since then are steadily raising people’s awareness of how Folk-Music can still advance with the times.

The Deadly Winters re-define the term ‘folk-rock’, and take you on musical travels through tales of love, pain, sorrow, joy and friendship. The five-piece know their audience and know their stories well, bringing to the stage an emotive musicality that goes beyond an ordinary performance. You get a real story with these guys, a story that blossoms and erupts beneath and around intricate and well-constructed melodies.

Radio airplay for the band has been plentiful, including BBC Radio One’s Introducing in Scotland, Roddy Hart, Tom Morton and Iain Anderson’s shows on BBC Radio Scotland, Jim Gellatly’s Weekly Podcast, Amazing Radio plus numerous internet stations and Podcasts from the UK to Australia.

Live, the band have supported and shared stages with Dougie Maclean and The Staves and have appeared at Celtic Connections, Perthshire Amber (Dougie MacLean Festival), Edinburgh’s St Andrew’s Day 2013, Bannockburn Live 2014, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Strathyre Festival, Kinross Music Festival and The Edinburgh Rock n Roll Marathon.
