The Ben Cameron Project is the creative vehicle of Australian
musician and composer Ben Cameron.
Cameron began the project in 2013 as a fresh outlet to explore
a wide range of influences, from the heavier end of progressive
rock and metal to the lighter side of folk and ambient music.
It’s the combination of these styles, as well as an ever bold intent
to explore different music and lyrical concepts that gives
The Ben Cameron Project it’s signature sound, long and winding
genre bending tracks that cover a lot of musical ground with a
cohesive flow.
May 2014 saw the project’s debut album, entitled ‘Tipping Point’,
released independently.
Tipping Point is a two-part, 40 minute concept piece that explores one man’s struggles with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. Cameron not only performed guitar, keyboards, bass and vocals, but also produced and mixed the record in his own studio.
The critical response to Tipping Point was very positive, with the album being labelled as “A marvellously accomplished debut” by DPRP and “A beauty of an album” by Progarchy - who also included the album on their Best of 2014 list.
Writing for a follow up was completed in late 2015 and the new album is currently being recorded in London, with release scheduled for the summer of 2016.
