The Balkan Wanderers are a 5-piece band from Oxford who were founded in 2014 by Antica (Croatian) and Stu (British) to create original East (European)-meets-West songs, often containing a mixture of English and Croatian styles and lyrics. Clare (British) on clarinet, Rene (German) on drums and Marc (German) on bass complete the lineup. They play music inspired by traditional Balkan artists (e.g. Amira Medunjanin, ?aban Bajramović) and punk, ska and indie bands (e.g. Mano Negra, Bad Religion, Supergrass).
The band have received radio support from Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music), Ruth Barnes on Amazing Radio, and BBC Oxford Introducing.
