We are The Atoms - a Synth-Rock band based in Leeds. Our sound can be described as “Grandiose, synthesised, heavy rock". Since forming in 2016, we have gained a lot of gig mileage; performing at such iconic Leeds venues as The Wardrobe, The Lending Room, O2 Academy Leeds and Belgrave - playing alongside the likes of The Indigo Project, Sisteray and The Strawberries. We have also attained a substantial following in London, playing venues such as 229 and O2 Academy Islington. We also had a lot of fun playing at Elland Road in 2017 to over 2000 people. We are all about the performance and strive to put on a great and memorable show every time, taking influence from some of the greatest rock bands and their own musical backgrounds, that add to our grand sound and theatrical performance. The Atoms have the dramatic style of Muse mixed with the lyrical approach of The Killers; the theatrical attitude of Genesis with the Progressive style of Rush. At the same time, we are writing the music we want to hear in the industry and hope to pioneer our unique sound as we grow.

Earlier last year we also released our debut single 'Lifeline', which charted at 75th in the Amazon Indie/Alternative charts. The songs were influenced by James' (Keys) background in Film Music, adding to the band’s theatrical nature and presence. As a result of this process the songs written so far all differ in style whilst remaining true to the core approach of our sound.

Live, our music is given an extra dimension. We believe that playing live physically allows us to embrace and pronounce the dramatic essence of each song. We believe the audience is the 5th member of the band, creating the atmosphere and allowing us to play towards it. After listening to our audience, some claim we create the best atmosphere when we perform.
