The 101 are a Scottish six-piece indie pop-funk band, incorporating a classic funk element into their upbeat indie music. Since their formation in 2017, the young band has made a considerable name for themselves both locally and nationally.
Drawing influence from the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Bad Suns and Passion Pit, the band combine a classic 80’s sounding funk element and concoct it into their own unique sounding anthemic pop music, best illustrated through the bands’ debut single ‘Not you but me’ and follow up single ‘Cliché’.
The band has since received support from the likes of BBC Scotland, BBC Introducing, STV, Amazing Radio and coverage from WePlugGoodMusic, Clash Magazine and NME. Accompanying this, the band were featured in Jim Gellatly’s ‘New Music Column’ in The Scottish Sun and have received editorial backing from distribution giants Spotify, being added to global playlists The Indie List, Hot New Bands and Release Radar.
