Biography

Laying foundations of epic proportions with an innovative, elegiac and epic sound, Temple Grounds rise from the ruins

Formed in 2010, Temple Grounds are built on the ashes of a band called Linchpin, comprising of Joey Cass (lead vocals/guitar), Mike Cass (bass/vocals), Paul Bugler (guitar/vocals) and Oliver Som (drums). But make no mistake in judging this group on their ages or past musical ventures alone. They have ability, honesty, integrity and imagination well beyond their years, desiring to connect with and change the lives of their listeners.

Any band that can legitimately cite Jeff Buckley, Biffy Clyro, Radiohead, Local Natives and everyone in between, as their influences, were never going to pass by unnoticed. Bringing something new to the musical table, their incredibly hard working ethic and impressive harmonies have already raised many an eyebrow in music scene.

Their EP, the aptly titled 'Temple Grounds' is bursting with trademark intricacies, indie inspired orchestral riffs and infectious melodies. Temple Grounds has given the band freedom to explore their unique sound, and ‘record the music they were meant to make’ whether it be the incredibly constructed guitar of 'Sun & Rise' or the sharp soundscapes of 'My Way Out'.

The band use their experience and background as a springboard to progress into unchartered territory, to challenge the often single minded scenes they have been confronted with along their journey. If that means performing in the middle of a meadow or headlining main stages their epic live performances are a tribute to their intelligent musicality.

They’ve toured all over the UK with previous ventures but are set to spread their found sound to ‘as many people as possible’. In the process of recording their first full length album, Temple Grounds are going to take the UK by storm with a new set list, a fresh sound and what promise to be epic live shows.
