Biography

Miranda Crocock aka ShadyLady was born in 1976; having grown up on a West London estate, she lived in a community where different cultures and music such as Rare Groove, Hip-Hop and Reggae were commonplace which influenced her from a very young age, igniting her passion for the love of music.Being an 80’s child, Shady Lady at the age of just 17 had the pleasure of witnessing the emergence of fresh new music and some great genres of the era including hardcore, jungle and particularly ‘house’ music which was incorporated into her soul by her elder brother and sister; one of her other influences was Michael Jackson. ShadyLady’s relationship with music remains as zealous today as it was then, and it is this passion and determination that has led her on her musical journey; she has always considered music to be her forte and in 2018/19 her DJ’ing career took off. ShadyLady loves to play all types of ‘house’ music, but also enjoys a wider range of genres.

Why did she choose the name ShadyLady as her stage name and brand; well, she was always known for her love of sunglasses throughout her early years and was given the nickname “ShadyLady”, and it seemed an appropriate name to form her brand around.

Since hitting the club music scene, ShadyLady has been fortunate enough to play for Sharpscape Promotions – ‘Studio 808’, first as a special guest appearance alongside Nu Gruuv subsequently going on to secure several other guest appearances and playing regularly for Sharpscape’s at Rumours, Brentwood. She has also been on ‘Secret Lounge Radio’ and had a regular bi-weekly Friday night primetime show on ‘Fantasy FM London’.ShadyLady has played at many private parties across the country particularly throughout 2021 which proved a busy year after lockdown, as well as at numerous events including ‘Veterans of Dance’ for ‘Breast Cancer Now’ organised by MRL Productions; several ‘Glamorous London’ events including ‘Charley Says Boat Party’ run by the legendary Charlie Beardmore who is known for running the busiest after parties at some of the best venues in London and with some of the biggest names in the industry; ‘Bring the House Down’ where ShadyLady has performed alongside some legends and an audience of 1,200 people, raising money for Children with Cancer. Other events have included a ‘Pure Sea’ production where she performed with Lisa Loud, Carly Denham, Fifi Forte & Bardo at Cuvee, Esher. ShadyLady has also played out for ‘The Nobody Inn’ on board their ‘Nobody Gets Nautie’ Boat Party as well as for ‘Belessa Club Night’ events at several of their private parties and promotional events. This year’s season has already seen ShadyLady join the ‘Belessa Club Night ‘ brand at their Pre-Launch event in January as well as at the ‘Fetish Fun Valentine’s Ball’ at Cuvee. She has also gone on to play at various other events including further London Boat Parties, as well as for her friend, Richie Sawyer at his recent prestigious birthday party in London where she performed alongside many a well-known DJ. Continuing on her 2022 journey, ShadyLady will once again be joining ‘Bring The House Down’ in June as well as joining Sirens of Sound for an all lady line-up . This is not all; on St. George’s Day ShadyLady will be joining Chelsea Singh and MC Chalkie White at a birthday celebration on the night of the big Fury-Whyte. Of course it goes without saying that she will also rejoin ‘Belessa Club Night’ for the remainder of their 2022 events, including playing alongside Jon Pleased wimmin in September. The next event is on 11th June at The Warehouse Bar, Benfleet.

ShadyLady regularly gets asked to play at many events by well-known promoters, so keep your eyes peeled for future events throughout the remainder of 2022 and join ShadyLady - she will certainly entice you onto the dance floor doing what she does best spreading her love for “nothing but good beats and bangers”.
