Scaefa is the alias of electronic music producer and DJ Will Lane, whose passion for dance music is reflected in the eclectic mix of house, techno, garage and bass music that he plays with. Hailing from the small town of Thatcham in between Reading and Newbury, he's been quietly honing his craft for a number of years. His first release as a single was the melancholic 'Canary', featuring rolling drum and bass breaks mixed with thudding techno kicks and beautiful minimal piano. 'Canary' stretches everything from these simple elements, and creates an emotional soundscape whilst still being primed for the club. The rest of the 'Canary EP' follows suit, from the strong melodies and harmonious strings of 'As the Sun Sets', to the 90's drenched 'Built to Last', the EP explores a lot of ground in it's 34 minute run time. His DJ sets are just as varied, joining the dots of melodic house, dark techno, hard hitting breaks and beyond. Scaefa is a new name, but one you won't want to sleep on.
