Sam Hewitt works in oils, sketching in pencil, charcoal and photography. He works on top of old paintings, working against them, allowing accidents. He also paints on inviolate surfaces with the accidents minimised.

Sam has lived in Brighton since 1990 and is completely influenced by it. The light, the spaces and the people are, in combination, his constant muse.
