Perhaps best known for his founding membership in the popular band Level 42 throughout the '80s, Phil Gould (28 February 1957) is also a respected session drummer and songwriter. His music career began with appearances on recordings by the likes of M and Roxy Music. He went on to form Level 42 with fellow Isle of Wight musicians - his guitarist brother, Boon Gould, and bass player Mark King - and Mike Lindup, a keyboardist/vocalist who had been a classmate of Phil at London's Royal Academy Of Music.
