Born in Novokuznetsk, Russia, Peteris Sokolovskis, began the cello at the age of six with Lija Sudraba in Riga, Latvia, and later studied at the Purcell School of Music with Alexander Boyarsky. Peteris graduated from the Royal College of Music where he also studied with Alexander Boyarsky.
