Biography

Peggy Seeger - folk icon, feminist, political activist, eco-warrior, muse and octogenarian - may have lost count of the gigs she’s played over her long career, but her performances remain fresh, passionate and vibrantly entertaining. Reviews of her 2015 80th Birthday tour were unanimous in their praise:

“She may be folk royalty, but there’s nothing either reverent or nostalgic about this joyous and intimate performance.” The Guardian

“Glorious - a commanding presence.” The Times

Her most recent (and 24th ) solo album, ‘Everything Changes’, produced by her son Calum MacColl, was awarded 4 and 5 stars by all the major press and was listed in many national and international ‘Best Albums of the Year’ lists.

As the wife of songwriter and activist Ewan MacColl, she was the 'face' of MacColl's classic 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face'.
