Paul Cut Biography
As a former classical and jazz musician, Paul Cut is in love with jazz and everything that came from it. He maintains this long-running tradition by merging jazz and house, doing so by using samples or playing live keyboards. Whatever he is doing, his sole purpose is the groove.
Paul Cut’s first releases were released on Parisian labels. The Joy EP came on Ondulé Recordings which was run by Joss Moog and Around7, the Serious Intentions EP came on D.ko Records as Paul was working as the keyboard player for the label’s live band, the Secret Value Orchestra.
Four years ago, French lable Popcorn began to release vinyl records with DJ and producer Lowris at the helm. Lowris was a necomer at the time, and he went on to become a world famous resident of Concrete Paris Parties and a highly regarded producer. Popcorn has decided then that it is the natural choice to dedicate its 10th release to another newcomer: Paul Cut. His Basement Jam EP was that release.
Paul Cut seeks to bring his house-jazz hybrid to the world stage, and above all, to serve the groove.
