Biography

Sheffield-based singer, songwriter and session guitarist, Paul Bell began writing songs at the edge of six or seven. Sound-wise, he's been compared to John Mayer, Sting and James Taylor.

In 2009, Paul released a live album of new material, "Name in Lights", recorded on November 8th 2008. An acoustic album, much closer to the classic live experience of a Paul Bell show. The lead track "What I call romance" was released as a free download single.

"Name in lights" featured live favourites "The need for biscuits" and "Should have learned" which are essentially comedy songs, as well as more thought provoking songs including "Tuvalu", "Unnoticed" and "Keep me going".

Musically, Mark Prentice and James Middleton again handle bass and drums respectively. Keyboard duties are handled by Mark Edwards. Paul's distinctive guitar style is very much to the fore, and Paul also takes on production duties, alongside experienced songwriter and producer Phil Baggaley.

Paul's debut, "Human Conditions" was released in 2006, and included favourites "Slippers" and "When I'm gone". A studio album, with acoustic and electric tunes, showcasing Paul's session guitar skills alongside his songwriting.
