Light Skies Darken are East Anglia's exciting new, female fronted classic/ prog rock trio, featuring members from a number of established acts. Lizzy and Reubes Cocksedge (The Pure Floyd Show, Screaming Beauty etc) formed the group in 2018 alongside online guitar sensation, Daniel Jones, with a clear vision to fuse the 'prog' sound with the energy and attitude of classic rock.
Despite strong influences from bands like Deep Purple, Dream Theater, Rush and Toto, Light Skies Darken have their own signature sound as a result of their creative vocal harmonies, technical playing styles and use of varied musical flavours.
Their debut EP ‘Stare into the Sun’ (and its accompanying music video) was released late last year and has had strong support from radio stations (Team Rock, Cambridge 105, BBC Norfolk etc), live music fans and also the Grapevine Live magazine who featured the band as their front cover in December 2018.
If you are looking for a line up that features the bold bass lines and powerful lead vocals of Glenn Hughes, the drumming groove and technicality of Mike Portnoy and a young Steve Lukather on lead guitar, then make sure you catch the Light Skies Darken set at this year’s Cambridge Rock Festival!
