Kosta Burgess is a singer-songwriter and guitarist hailing from Bristol, heavily inspired by the writing of Nick Drake, Neil Young and Adam Duritz, and the raspy vocal stylings of Stephen Stills. After finding a second home among the Camdenites of the grassroots label Spiritual Records, he quickly built up a reputation for his repertoire of emotive songs.

With growing momentum following the release of his debut single Louisiana in early 2025, Kosta was funded by the Arts Council to record a debut EP with Spiritual Records - The Heroes, the Poets, the Drunk and the Drained. Telling stories about complex characters – each an artist struggling to find their place in a faceless and unforgiving society – it’s a reflection on his experiences making music among brilliant people in London, and an ode to the richness of the scene, particularly the title track. Released in May 2026, the EP was very well received, winning AmericanaUK's EP of the Month Award.

The singles, New Dawn, Step Outside, and Song for Florian, were released in early 2026, and have brought with them glowing reviews, BBC radio play, and Kosta’s first band gigs, including headline slots at The Green Note, the Pheasantry and the Finsbury.
