Biography

Jonny Blade, a northern boy in every sense. Born in Sunderland, but 'made in Yorkshire' Jonny's foray into music started at school as with so many. Picking up a ukulele of all instruments at the ripe age of 14, he took to playing covers and writing originals, his later endevours in original music taking insipration from all the indie rock 'massives' such as 'The Lottery Winners', 'The K's' and 'The Reytons'. The very same ukulele Jonny had braved to play through his high school days, ended up being a catalyst allowing him to play his first performances in front of a crowd at 'Gorilla Beer Hall' as well as Macnhester's '02 Apollo', both with 'The Lotter Winners', stemming from a Youtube video he released covering their infamous tune, 'Favourite Flavour.' He then progressed to guitar at 16, after witnessing Jamie Wooding support 'The Lottery Winners' with solely his guitar and loop pedal in Wigan. Jonny also felt impelled to rewrite the lyrics to David Bowie's 'Starman' in tribute to George Baldock after his tragic passing in October. The song received an incredible reception on social media and he performed it in the SUFC fanzone on 3 occasions and in front of 28,000 fans at half-time. The song: Repeat Offender is the debut single from Jonny Blade. A modern day tale of unrequited love/infatuation Written by Jonny & co-composed with Niall Fennell of The Clause who also produced the track.
