Im Jonjo, a 20 year old producer and Dj from merseyside, England. My genre of choice is hard techno, with both my sets and music relying on dark driving percussion and massive synth lines. I have took a liking and found inspiration from the music of Plastikman (Richie Hawtin), Nico Moreno and Layton Giordani, who’s own style’s have allowed me to begin developing my own aggressive and other worldly sound.

I have always had a passion for dance music. As a young teen I found joy in various genres, however I did not find techno until my first festival, where I was hammered by Carl Cox and Adam Beyer for four hours. It was during these sets that I realised I had connected with techno on a much deeper level than any other music, and the obsession had began. Since that day I have listened to techno almost exclusively, and decided that I would much prefer to be on the other side of the decks. Having no musical background or musicians in the family, I still to this day study music in my own time as I have a lot to catch up with.

What draws me to techno is the darkness of it, and the atmospheres created by pounding sets. I am still yet to encounter something that brings me as much joy as a rave. The connection with everyone on the dance floor, the music and the dj has made me travel the globe to crazy festivals. My favourite festival has to be Awakenings in Amsterdam, the vibe and quality of the productions and sound system isn’t comparable to any other place.
