Jay learned the craft of DJ'ing on a set of kam belt driven turntables and a Gemini two channel mixer back in the early 90's, when the beat matching penny finally dropped, there was no stopping him. Every spare moment and money was spent in either Music Power, Ilford or Rhythm Division in Bow. 'House' music took over his life. He was lucky enough to play a few venues around East London which then progressed into radio stations around South Essex, these roads then let him back to Funkysx Essex' only urban and dance station Funkysx 103.7 fm, where he plays alongside Adam Jarman on their Sunday night Ultra Flavas show between 6.00 p.m and 8.00 p.m where he plays the best of house, tech house, garage and remixes. He is known as "Jay the Cabbie".
