Green Velvet aka Cajmere discovered house music whilst studying chemical engineering at the University of Illinois.

Using the Green Velvet moniker to make his singularly twisted, funk-flecked house and techno hybrid, it was as Cajmere that he made his first musical mark back in the early 90's

Up until then, music had been a hobby fueled by cobbling together tracks on a "sixty buck keyboard, a cheap four-track and a cheap drum machine" while still an undergraduate at the University of Illinois.

Music became his focus and he returned to Chicago to pursue his dream of producing house, before completing graduate school.

Following the launch of Relief Records in 1993 Green Velvet has been a respected presence in the industry, and it continues to grow today.

He has had many collaborations throughout the years including Carl Craig, Detlef, Eats Everything, Mason Maynard and Patrick Topping.

A regular in London, Ibiza and USA, Green Velvet can be seen performing sets for well known brands and events including,Terminal V, Circus and Do Not Sleep.
