From a young age, I discovered my passion for music, which ignited my journey into the world of DJing at just 13 years old. My first gig at the legendary Foundation in Wakefield marked a significant milestone, paving the way for further opportunities at venues such as Ice Bar. I then had the privilege of securing a weekly residency in Leeds, in addition to a monthly residency for the iconic brand "Soul Heaven." During this time, I had the incredible opportunity to perform alongside renowned DJs such as Bobby and Steve, Richard Earnshaw, Audiowhores, and Andy Ward (Soul Central), among others.
After taking a break for family commitments, I re-entered the music scene around 2019, initially playing small private parties. Following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I made a triumphant return by performing at the Summertime Life event in Leeds in 2022. This period also marked the beginning of my radio journey with Influx Radio, which led to a weekly show on NDC Radio called "Funk It, It's Tuesday," dedicated to Soul, Funk, Disco, and Soulful House music. My dedication to this show earned me the accolade of "Best Radio Show" at the prestigious Only Good Vibes Music Awards in 2023.
I am excited to have secured a bi-weekly residency on Grant Nelson’s D3ep Radio station, where I host "Funk It, It's Sunday" in a prime Sunday evening slot. This year has been particularly fruitful, as I've had the opportunity to perform in various locations, including Ibiza (PlastiK), Paris (House of Drome), and Croatia (Beach Bar Loco Villa), as well as numerous venues across Leeds (Bar 42, District Bar, Hide Out Bar, Dog House), Wakefield (Havana Bar), Skipton (Flute & Fizz), Pontefract (Tooth & Tiger), Sheffield (The Art of House), and Manchester (Shute Bar).
In February 2024, I won the FunkyLove DJ competition hosted by Love2Be's sister company, which has led to more exciting gigs in both Leeds and my hometown of Wakefield.
In recent years, I've also ventured into music production under the alias "Double Gee," where I have successfully signed two tracks to reputable labels: "You’re the One for Me," featuring Priya on vocals for Disco House Records, and "What You Do to Me" for Kenny Summit's Good For You Records, which reached No. 15 in the Nu Disco charts on Traxsource.
My journey in music continues to inspire me, and I am eager to explore new opportunities and collaborations in the industry.
