Grace was formed by a group of art students in the late '70s, and they toured the North Staffordshire area. In 1977, they released their first single, "Old Stories," on an independent label. Grace signed with MCA in 1979, and released the single, "The Fire of London." This also led to the recording of their self-titled debut album.
For 1994's "Pulling Strings and Shiny Things" Mark Price became the new keyboard player. This lineup remained stable for their last studio release, 1996's "Poppy".
Following a run of support spots with Wishbone Ash, The Animals, The Strawbs, Pentangle, Arthur Brown etc a December 1997 show they performed at The Wheatsheaf in Stoke-On-Trent, recording and and releasing it as "Gathering in the Wheat." Ironically, this was also the night they announced that they were splitting up. Though this year, 2019, the seventh studio album is released and the band are playing and enjoying a popular resurgence.
