Biography

Cambridge’s mighty FREEDOM FACTION first burst onto the punk scene in 1986 and with their anarchic sets of raw rabble rousing numbers, they quickly built up a strong following all over the UK especially in East Anglia.

Longevity precedes this band, Nick Grant (bass) has been at the helm of the ship from day one and has sailed the seas of the last couple of decades playing many of the major festivals and supporting some of the most well known bands in the genre such as GBH and the UK Subs.

After a prolonged hiatus in the 90’s which saw the original members take time out and work on various other projects, Freedom Faction reformed and now with their current All Star Line-Up they are writing new material and gigging prolifically.

They are tight as hell and pedal a nostalgic blend of raw punk rock, old school production style and authentic yet tongue-in-cheek songwriting. It’s an infectious rampage of sound and energy you will find hard to forget, weather singing about allotments or human duplicity, the FF boys will leave you wanting more every time. Choppy guitars and beats, bellowing bass and berserker vocals; their latest single Old Man has been played on airwaves around the world already including Seattles KEXP radio.

Freedom Faction are Nick Grant - bass, Jez Arnold a.k.a Strang - guitar, Matt Redgrave - vocals, Jason Webdale – guitar and Tom Maddox - drums.
