I had been keeping my eye on this young man ever since he made a guest appearance at the New Crawdaddy Blues Club some years ago with one of Sam Kelly’s bands. His vocals, guitar playing and charismatic stage presence were quite outstanding for one so young and, when I had a cancellation earlier in the year, it gave me the opportunity of inviting Frankie’s band to fill the slot. Frankie absolutely blew us all away with one of the best performances we had seen at the club and I instantly offered him the coveted last gig of the year slot as a result. He possesses one of the best blues voices I have had the pleasure of hearing at the club, very reminiscent of Steve Marriott but with, what I believe, is far better tonal qualities. As a massive Marriott fan myself, I cannot give higher praise than that.
