Biography

Flying Ibex are songwriter Barnaby Keen, drummer Dave De Rose and bassist Nathaniel Keen. Formed in 2011, the trio have varied musical pasts including work with Mark Ronson and Moloko, touring with Andreya Triana, and musical journeys through Brazil. From their beginnings as the house band at a commune of artists in south London, improvising to silent films and theatre pieces, the band have progressed through a sea of influences including African tapes, Brazilian Maracatu and analogue gear.

They listen to old African pop cassettes and Brazilian Maracatu, mess around with delay pedals, and generally run down avenues of sound that are potentially as weird as they are potentially accessible.

You can either deep-sea-dive into the songs or try and untangle yourself from the perfectly executed, uncivilized beats. Whatever you choose to do, the songs will stick in your mind and the band will serve you up an irresistable feast of wayward groove!
