Biography

When did I start this, I mean was it when I started using the name DFFSS on my remixes or does it go back further. Was it when I DJ'd for the first time, cutting up tracks between decks because that's all I knew and didn't have a sampler yet. Or before that, recording tracks onto a 4 track then remixing them via an echo pedal connected to the monitor outputs. Going back even further, I remember at the age of 13 or 14, using the pause button to record, re-edit and remix tracks from the radio, before I even knew what a remix was. Or even, at about the same age, discovering scratching through flexidiscs attached to the front of cereal packets, where the cardboard acted as an integrated slipmat . Could it be argued that the mixture of music my parents listened to, from The Beatles to strange Dutch jazz, started me on this journey.

Wherever it started, this is where I am now and that's all that matters.
