Biography

Dani Harmer is an English actress best known for her role as Tracy Beaker in the British television series.

She reprised the role of Tracy in five mini episodes of the television show in aid of Children in Need 2004 and in a stage play performed at Buckingham Palace at the 2006 Children's Party at the Palace that featured characters from several British children's books to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday. The programes of: The Story Of Tracy Beaker, usually lasted around 15 minutes.

Apart from Tracy Beaker, she played Beep Beep in the British television series The Beeps and Molly Venables in the sitcom After You've Gone. In November 2008 Media Guardian reported that After You've Gone was to be cancelled by the BBC, due to ITV moving Coronation Street to the same slot on ITV1. The BBC had announced a fourth series of the show in January to be aired in 2009, however the series will instead end with a Christmas special in 2008. Dani Harmer has also occasionally presented CBBC continuity on the CBBC Channel.

Harmer played a recurring character in ITV drama Trial & Retribution. Other programmes she has appeared in include Casualty, My Family, Pie in the Sky, The 10th Kingdom, Beast, Touch Me, I'm Karen Taylor and the pilot for Coming of Age. She was one of the presenters known as "packers" in the latest series of the Saturday morning programme Mighty Truck of Stuff in April 2006-July 2006. Currently, Dani Harmer is starring in a new CBBC series entitled Dani's House.

Harmer started acting at the Redroofs Theatre School in Maidenhead.

She starred in the 2007 Wolverhampton Grand Theatre pantomime Dick Whittington. Starred in a Pantomime in Worthing, West Sussex.

In March 2009, the BBC announced that Harmer would reprise the role of Tracy Beaker in a new series consisting of 13 episodes in which she would become a careworker at her former care home.

Harmer's own CBBC sitcom Dani's House has also been recommissioned for a further two series, each consisting on 13 episodes. This is due to the overwhelming success of the first series and the selling of the rights for the first series.
