Biography

Dale’s musical journey started out at a young age listening to his parents soul and jazz music collection that got him hooked from an early age, back in the day Dale used to tune in to the likes of Mike Shaft’s TCOB Radio show in Manchester and Richard Searling’s Soul Sauce this really started his love of soul and dance music while still at school in the 80s, it was after hearing Greg Wilson doing the end of year mixes on Piccadilly that got Dale interested in DJ mixes especially after hearing how those early tape edits were made.

His love Soul and Dance music coming out in the 80s which really got him to start collecting records.

As the end of 80s drew near and the emergence of house music into the UK scene, Dale built a small home studio with equipment and started making his own productions, although these were very basic tracks the drive and love of the music would keep Dale building up the studio and becoming more and more serious about his future ambitions.

Dale has been heavily influenced by the likes of Kerri Chandler, Steve “Silk” Hurley and many others from the early days of house and during the early 90s attending clubs like the Hacienda and collaborating on tracks with DJ friend Tom Wainwright got Dale more focused within the club scene.

Now a regular face at the likes of The Scottish Soulful Weekender, Dale started DJing with a friend in Manchester during the late 90s and has also had a weekly mix show featured on Buzz FM which showcased soulful house DJs from the UK, New York and Chicago.

In the last few years Dale had focused on production and joined up with friend and label owner Craig Stewart of Wiggly Worm Records and has worked with Montana and Stewart on remixes for Mark Picchiotti, Stephanie Cooke, Andy Compton and Dana Weaver which have had top ten positions in the chart.

Dale’s remixed tracks with Craig have been released on Tony Humphries label (Tony’s Records) and is currently working with some singer/songwriters big in the house music scene.

In the meantime catch Dale on the decks near you soon.
