Biography

Cathedrals & Cars are a five piece alternative band from East Anglia that formed in 2011. They have been described as ‘a revelation’ and ‘mesmerising’ (B-Side Magazine) and "beautiful yet melancholic' (Generator). From their humble beginnings as an acoustic 3 piece, they have grown rapidly to an atmospheric electric 5 piece with haunting vocals, layered instrumentation and a momentum in the rhythm that holds it all together.

Their third recording, This Is What Collection Means ep, released on 8 November 2013 on Cemetery Bench Records, continues their experimental evolution as they shed the last of their acoustic instruments with a mature focus on instrumentation and atmosphere. The entire EP was performed live in November 2013 on their second session on BBC Introducing.

Their previous releases are: Sky Lanterns EP (2011), and Control Is Not Perfection album (2012).
