CATBEAR is the alt-pop project of best friends Zoe and Sarah, shaped by the indie, synth-pop and electronic sounds of the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Their music blends bright melodies with darker textures, exploring the emotional landscapes that keep us up at night – joy, anxiety, heartbreak, longing and hope.

Their sound has evolved from DIY beginnings in a South London rehearsal room into shimmering synth-pop, cinematic synthwave, and moody post-punk. From early singles like Beast of the Night to the immersive atmosphere of In The Night and the defiant energy of Carry On, CATBEAR songs carry emotional weight with a pop sensibility.

Everything they release is written, recorded and produced by Zoe, and their fiercely hands-on approach extends from studio to merch table. With millions of streams and a growing fanbase around the world, the duo has played festivals like The Great Escape and Bristol Pride, toured with The Subways, and shared stages with The Human League, Ladytron, and ARXX.

Now based between Brighton and South London, they’re finishing their second album. Recent singles Rush, Grow Up, and Carry On offer a glimpse of what’s to come – dreamy, propulsive, and emotionally direct songs that speak to the lives and hearts of their listeners.
