Canyon Ryde is the name of the band/collective formed by singer songwriter Phil Lively-Masters. They play a fine blend of Americana, Indie and Rock and Roll. Phil can produce an velvet growl which matches the material he writes and produces with Canyon Ryde

Canyon Ryde released a double length debut album entitled 'Free To Be'(released on Ltd. Deluxe Edition CD and Ltd. Deluxe gatefold Purple vinyl),on the band's own independent label: Freedom Feathers Records in 2013 with international distribution via CARGO in Feb 2014.They are now heading towards the production of their second album.The live band revolves around the experienced trio line up of: Phil Lively-Masters (vocals, Acoustic guitar), Arthur Wharf (Lead Electric Guitar), Mat Love (Percussion, vocals) Past bigger band line ups: Peter Bruntnell (Electric guitar, vocals), Del Skinner (Bass, mandolin, pedal steel) and Colin Wright (Drums, percussion). Addtional musicians who have guested are: Gary Louris from The Jayhawks (Electric Guitar) Dave Little (Electric Guitar) and Martin Froud (Dobro, Lap slide guitar).
