Biography

Only concentrating on the thickest dirty bass lines and toe tapping high hats- Louis Chautems has DJ'd for 10 years and produced on Ableton for 5, fully grasping the complex DAW in the last 3 years. Under his alias "c-HAUTEM" (formerly known as LouiShowtime)- He produces techno (Industrial/RAW/Acid) and some Tech-house/Jackin house and Melodic house in his studio in the South of France where he currently resides.

From the very young age of 3, Louis loved music. His father would make him cassettes with the likes of The Chemical Brothers, The prodigy and other 80s/90s originators of Rave in which he would listen to every day in the car/house. This led on to him picking up playing 3 instruments when he was of the age of 11-15 and attending a once a year music school for a week called the "Fèis Rois" in which he played the Accordion, the drum kit and the guitar. He did this for four years.

He has played all over the UK, for instance in “The Tunnels” A renown techno club in Aberdeen where the likes of “Charlotte De Witte”, “Danny Rampling” (A pioneer of acid-techno back in the 80s), “I Hate Models” and an array of other impressive successful artists have played along with multiple other smaller venues. He is familiar with the Tunnels as He has been on the line up there alongside Gary Beck, Charles Fenckler and Gary Burrows. Festival wise- He has opened “Shenanigans main stage” a festival in Inverness, being invited back a second year in a row to play a later set and also down at "Elements Festival" in South England near Bristol which has now been unfortunately discontinued . Stretching internationally- He has held residency in the "Balmers club" in Interlaken, Switzerland and also played in the "Hangover Club" and the "The Studio" in Bern along side one of his early hero's DJ LE ROI. The furthest away he has spun the wheels of steel is in Thailand, Koh-Chang where he DJ'd in the “Ting-Tong bar”.

He has DJ'd all over Ibiza in multiple small bars and clubs (Ibiza Rocks Bar, Kilties, The Highlander, Rio and another 5-7 small venues along with hosting and promoting a night called "Lets go dancing" In the club “RIO”.

He has promoted multiple free parties in Scotland, being the first to do so in that specific area of the remote north west coast.

He has played on radio shows such as "Levelz" in Glasgow and also played at multiple private functions there, Including an underground club he helped run and DJ’d for special events called “The Bunker”.

He studied at subSine|Academy of Electronic Music (Soma school), Mixmasters, Under The Booth booking academy and Hyperbits Masterclass- All well renown music schools.
