Biography

Billy Morris is a Scottish born DJ and promoter who has been in the industry for over 20 years.

He came to prominence in the mid 90’s on becoming a resident of club night Glam and made his name playing uplifting trance and house, supporting the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Seb Fontaine, Ferry Corsten, Scott Bond, John 00 Fleming, Jeremy Healy, Tall Paul, K-Klass, Graeme Park, Brandon Block and many more.

He went on to hold multiple residencies across Scotland including Universe in Coatbridge, Waterfront in Arbroath and Fat Sams, Purple Rooms, Hubara and Circus in Dundee, as well as playing at Glam events through-out Scotland, including some memorable nights at the Tunnel in Glasgow.

He began to run his own successful branded nights around Scotland as well as branching out to play at festivals.

Billy played the main dance stage at the inaugural Carnival 56 Festival warming up for Sasha, Basement Jaxx, James Zabiela and Denis Sulta and supported 2manydjs at the Groove Cairngorm Winter Sports Festival in Aviemore.

He runs successful night Dare! alongside his co-resident Jon Pleased Wimmin and these continue to sell out regularly.

Colours were the next to come calling and Billy has performed at most of their major events throughout Scotland including Coloursfest, Steve Angello’s Size tour at Ingliston, Axwell and friends at the O2 Academy in Glasgow and numerous nights in the Arches, the highlight being a peak time slot on the 2manydjs tour there. He also plays regularly at their STREETrave events.

Billy is a resident at the legendary Rhumba Club and played at their massive Festival of House events with huge line ups including Sasha and Slam. He continues to work with them on nights throughout Scotland and played the main room for their 27th Birthday Special with 2manydjs and their subsequent Birthday parties.

During Dundee Dance Event he played a mammoth 6 gigs in one day, incorporating a live vocalist at one of these before playing the Closing Party under the Rhumba banner once again.

He was part of the Cream tour when it came to Scotland, played the massive STREETrave 30th Birthday Party at SWG3, had a slot at EH-1 Festival at Ingliston and supported MK in Dundee for the Hannah’s Choice brand.

During Lockdown his podcast regularly topped the Mixcloud charts and gained thousands of viewers while helping local charities.

This led to some big online events where he played alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Altern 8, Utah Saints, Allister Whitehead, 808 State, K Klass, Slipmatt, FPI Project and Andy Carroll, with more in the pipeline from STREETrave.

He was recently asked to support Sasha and Digweed on their tour in the Galvanizers room at SWG3 in Glasgow, Cream Tour in Perth with Paul Van Dyk and Tall Paul, EH1 Festival and then supported Joel Corry the same night and most recently warmed up for Oliver Helden on the Scottish leg of his tour.
