Biography

Bethzienna's an independent, native Welsh artist whose Jazz origins are dripped in Country-soul, blues rock. With her youth spent singing in gospel choirs and performing with big bands, her roots are always embedded in her music.

Bethzienna relocated to London in 2009 after being awarded a Dance and Drama Scholarship to study at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Having spent the past 6 years working with the creative teams that are behind the likes of Duffy, Sting, Dua Lipa, and Lewis Capaldi. In and out of songwriting camps and studios, learning from the industry’s finest, Gary Clarke, Pam Sheyne, Eg White, and Nik Kershaw, writing for one of the world’s leading independent music publishers; Notting Hill Publishing. In 2019 she reached the finals of The Voice UK, coming third, mentored by Welsh Icon, Sir Tom Jones. Their improvised duet reached over a million views the night it aired. Bethzienna's work has led to her role with ‘Never Such Innocence’ -a charity mentoring the younger generation, teaching them about conflict and the legacy of World War I via song, leading to a personal thank you by Her Royal Highness in 2021 and the song 'Welcome Home' which she wrote for the 'children of the armed forces,' reaching 2million views on youtube and aired on ITV'S This Morning in 2022. 2022 saw Bethzienna touring her headline show for the first time and May 1st of this year sees the release of her second single 'Oh Lord.' Bethzienna describes herself as a 'storyteller', using every art form to create a story and connection. "It's not just about a good beat or a hook for radio, it's escapism it's a show. I can't imagine myself doing anything else."
