Nigerian-born British soul singer-songwriter. Her music is recognisable by the deeply rich and warm contralto that features in her sound. Singing and writing from a young age, she cites her songwriting in the early years as poems and simply as a way of "working out emotions". Growing up listening to R&b, gospel and female soul singers such as Lauryn Hill, Tracy Chapman and India Arie, she describes these as her main influences, with a fondness for the classics by Whitney Houston, Mariah Care, Josh Stone and Adele.

With upbeat, yet vulnerable and heart-felt songs that take you on an emotional journey, Bee Bakare is set to release her next EP early 2017.
