Taking her musical influences from Laura Mvula and London Grammar, for Becca James music is conversation. Newly based in London, making music is not only her chance to speak out on issues that matter to her, but to pose questions for others to answer. Her introspective lyrics take spirituality and connectedness as their central thematic concerns, underlined by her gospel-inflected vocal style.

Becca released her second single, Perfect Girl, in April 2021 as part of Tipping Point UK’s Create:Develop Programme. Since the release, Becca has received airplay from BBC Introducing in the North East, Smile Radio Yorkshire and Spark Sunderland, alongside Reprezent Radio and international radio stations such as CBN Virgin Islands 90.9 FM.

Becca’s music has been supported by publications such as Lock Magazine, Dansende Beren, NARC magazine and The Crack.
