Biography

Andy p started dj-ing in 1983 as a mobile dj and by 1989 was established as resident in The Swan and Sugarloaf, heralded for its wild weekend sessions as the House Music movement exploded into life. Along with good friend and fellow dj, Moon Andy, he pioneered the transition of the 414 Club, (formerly Steppers) in Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, from reggae club to dance music venue, after being approached by the owner. Local club and bar residencies followed with a 3 year spot at Txt Bar between 1998-2001.

Andy spent the summer of 2001 partying and dj-ing to the kids in Majorca, playing in Bananas, Tokio Joes and alongside the legendary Des Mitchell at the BCM.

Time spent away from dj-ing was replaced with time gigging with rock-indie band JunktimeParty before a return to the turntables, teaming up once again with Moon Andy putting on Moon-P parties locally.

The FUNKʼD UP all dayers were put together this spring with parties happening roughly every 6-8 weeks at The Bulls Head, Laud Street , Croydon. The music policy has been a complete throwback to our pre-house days with djʼs, who have included Lady Misstify, Rob Fung, Damo and Moon Andy, playing funk, jazz-funk, soul, hip-hop and rare groove.
