Alan Banjo was born and raised in Milan, Italy where he cultivated a rich and creative Techno/Tech-House sound, that has gained the attention of some of the world’s leading Record Labels over the years including, Umek’s 1605 Music Therapy, Intec, Funk ‘n Deep, Bush Records and the legendary label Trax. Banjo is firmly set on paving his future and has also now secured releases with Orange Recordings and Ballroom Records.
Alan Banjo is a prolific and technical artist who boasts a magical and unique sound that first came to fruition during a formative spell in Milan’s radio stations, where he quickly learned how to produce electronic music. In the mid-90s, Banjo produced his first record, but it wasn’t until he moved to Australia in 2005 that his talents came to a wider prominence. Under his J Nitti alias, Banjo produced on some of the biggest labels of the era, not least seminal NYC imprint, Nervous Records, Alex Kenji’s Hot Fingers as well as Hed Kandi and Azuli.
In 2015, Nitti released ‘Deep Down’, a slamming Tech House track that spent an impressive 3 months on the Beatport Top 3. Further success soon followed, as Nitti remixed Eric Powell’s “Reach Out”. Nitti’s “Made in Mel” remix didn’t just land at number 2 in the Beatport chart, but it also led to an unlikely friendship with the King of Clubs himself, Powell’s best friend, Mr. Carl Cox. This association ultimately paved the way for a release on Cox’s Intec Digital, where he released the Trip Trap EP to great success, with the release hitting number 2 in the Beatport Techno chart. He has also collaborated with fellow big room Techno lovers such as Toolroom boss Mark Knight also.
