Biography

The Movie: Director’s Cut is the hotly-anticipated new single from British Grunge Pop-Punk scene favourites A Poetic Yesterday.

Also known by the moniker APY, A Poetic Yesterday have won a fanatical fan base all over the UK with more than 500 live shows and headline appearances at venues such as the Birmingham O2 Academy. Now with their new single The Movie: Director’s Cut, taken from forthcoming album Revolutions, the band are set to gain the national recognition they deserve as one of the UK’s best Pop-Punk bands of recent years.

Drawing on influences from punk, grunge and good old fashioned rock, the band recently signed a two album deal with Banter Music and describe their current sound by saying ‘If Nirvana, Blink 182 and Four Year Strong had babies, A Poetic Yesterday would be the result’. Recent gigs with Sonic Boom Six, Lower than Atlantis, Don Broco and Holy Grail have further cemented their reputation and Gavin, Rich, Davio and Ryan’s lasting friendship shines through both on stage and on record, now they have captured in the studio the insane chemistry that makes their gigs so special.

Fresh from recording songs for the soundtracks to independent movies Ex Cathedra and Devil’s Racecourse and the theme tune to Takedown – Europe’s largest Amateur MMA Organisation, the band are ready to leave their mark on the British underground music scene forever – and A Poetic Yesterday could well find themselves no longer romanticising the past, as a glorious future awaits.
