Ashley ‘Woz‘ Westlake first appeared on our radar after his RackNRuin “Territory” remix competition entry blew us away. Not only did he win but we were so impressed, we signed his debut “Seen” EP, to BlackButter Records on the spot.

The young Bristolian explores bass music in a way we’ve not quite heard before. It’s rare to find a sound both so unique, fresh and at the same time, so well produced. You know a Woz production when you hear it.

With an increasing reputation in the UK bass scene Woz impresses some of the most reputable of tastes: Skream, ToddlaT, Udachi, Redlight, Monki, Roska ,Gorgon City and Loefah to name off a few. In 2014 you can catch him at some of the most respectable venues and events, from Fabric in London to Space in Ibiza. Outlook festival in Croatia and of course his local, the Legendary Glastonbury.

Woz’s last release ‘Early Morning Champagne’ featuring Joel Compass hit the mainstream hard with his distinctive bass heavy production. With strong support from Zane Lowe and B Traits on BBC Radio1. DjMag has tipped Woz as ‘One to watch for 2014’. His sets take you on a journey, he captivates dance floors with his unique sound, breaking boundaries with his eclectic musical knowledge always keeping you on your toes.
