Biography

Gemma Fox — The original Queen of Bassline, is a UK artist, DJ, songwriter, and label owner who helped shape the sound of UK Grime and bassline. With two Official UK Top 40 hits (#8 and #38), a MOBO nomination, and an Urban Music Award win, Gemma’s name is carved into the foundation of UK underground culture.

A natural performer and writer, she burst onto the scene with her powerful debut Girlfriend’s Story, a raw anthem. So Messy, boxers, Gone and Might Be, all certified anthems. It doesn't stop there. flipping styles, as Gemma does so effortlessly into r&b, her songs Gone and voicemail offer sultry vocals with soothing textures. Working with worldwide producers, such as Chucky Thompson, Midi Mafia, Rob Reef Telow and artists such as MC Lyte, Juelz Santana.

Now, after storming back into the charts with her club banger Awake (which hit #2 on the Music Week Upfront Chart), Gemma continues to bridge old school energy with new wave sound. She’s the First Lady of Niche, the original queen of Bassline, a DJ known for her high-energy sets and radio show on Pure FM last Fridays of the month 10pm to 11pm, the founder of Fox Ents, her independent label and also the face and first female promotor of Pure Bassline under the Pure Garage brand
