Kamp Robinson

Kamp Robinson (Campsite Vrela Mre¸nice) is less known, somehow unconventional campsite in continental part of Croatia. This small, locally run site, located on about 15km from Slunj (see map bellow) is owned by local tourist company, Slunjčica, that also owns restaurant and hotel in Slunj. The campsite rests in the tranquil and idyllic Mre¸nica River Canyon – a stunning and unusual location that offers peaceful and secluded camping in the untouched nature on the river banks, attractive waterfalls and clear spring water. Camping facilities on the site are extremely basic, almost nonexistent, adjusted to so called “Robinson camping” Activities in the area are numerous and will obviously appeal to nature lovers – walking or hiking along the river’s canyon, rafting, horseback riding, swimming, fishing or canoeing along Mre¸nica River. Vrela Mre¸nice camping ground is popular as a day tip or weekend destination especially among people who try to escape the crowd of large cities (mostly Zagreb) in the summer months. As campsite is situated on about 50 km from Plitvice National Park, visiting this campsite can be an interesting stopover while driving to or from the Lakes towards Zagreb or Adriatic.
