York Dungeon Standard Admission takes visitors through 2000 years of York’s darker history. The experience uses live actors, immersive sets and special effects to bring scenes from the city’s past to life.
Along the way, you meet Vikings and learn about their Saxon enemies, then encounter figures including Guy Fawkes and local witch Isabella Billington. The show also covers the Black Plague and a torture chamber.
Key facts: This is a live, story-led attraction built around York’s history, with dark-themed scenes, actors and special effects.
