York Dungeon Standard Admission at York Dungeon takes you through 2,000 years of York’s darker history. The experience uses live actors, immersive sets and special effects to bring stories from the city’s past to life as you see, hear and smell its murky history.
Along the way, you come face to face with Vikings, learn about their Saxon enemies, and meet figures including Guy Fawkes and the local witch Isabella Billington. The journey also covers the Black Plague and a torture chamber, combining history with theatrical storytelling.
Key facts: This is a walk-through experience set across 2,000 years of York’s history, with live actors, immersive sets and special effects. Younger visitors must be aged 5 and over, and the attraction is not recommended for under 8s.
