October 2015 was the last time Sean released any solo music officially, with his more acoustic-guitar based debut LP, “The Story of How We Lose Control”. The highly anticipated “Get Haunted” contains various quantities of jazz, pop, neo soul and funk. He came up with the name of the album whilst trying to find a common thread connecting the lyrical content and the soundscapes on the record. “Firstly I wanted a title that had an active word in it. I’d always liked the name of that Dire Straits album ‘Making Movies” and “Let’s Get Free’ by Dead Prez. The ‘haunted’ bit was just the overall vibe I was getting from some of the soundscapes, not that they are out-and-out creepy just more atmospheric than any of my other stuff. And if youthrow in a few mentions of ghosts in the lyrics, I settled on “Get Haunted”. The 11-track album, which features William The Conqueror’s Harry Harding on drums and production, is a blend of jazz and synth-based music with elements of funk rock, more reminiscent of Sean’s early work with his first band, ‘Funk The System’. The lyrical themes on the album include isolation, coffee enemas, playlists, ghosts and the absurdities of modern life. Whilst the majority of the vocals and instruments are played by Sean himself, the album also features numerous tracks with Jack Gonsalez on piano, a young jazz pianist from mid-Wales who is also a member of Welsh progressive jazz band, ‘Will Barnes Quartet’. Also joining Sean on the night will be Clovis Phillips on bass, Josh Davies on drums and Alex Pickford on vocals. Not to be missed!
