Fourteen-year-old Lola has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia and will soon begin around six months of intensive treatment at University College Hospital in London. She will stay in hospital for the duration.
Anyone who knows Lola will tell you she is a bright, funny, caring young girl who is absolutely full of life. She loves dancing, always has a smile on her face, and brings laughter wherever she goes. Her diagnosis has come as a devastating shock to her family, friends and everyone who knows and loves her.
Lola’s mum, Sophie, and dad, Rick, are determined to be by her side throughout her treatment. As both are self-employed, every day spent caring for Lola means time away from work and a loss of income at a time when they need to focus solely on helping their daughter through this difficult journey.
The family live in Essex, while Lola will be staying at & receiving treatment at University College Hospital in London. The funds raised will help ease the financial pressure of regular travel to and from the hospital, parking and transport costs, meals while away from home, day-to-day household expenses, and anything Lola may need to make her long stay in hospital a little more comfortable. They also have Lola’s 16 year old brother Reggie to consider.
No parent should have to worry about paying the bills while their child is fighting cancer.
